A level 200 student of Environmental Management at the School of Natural and Environmental Sciences of the University of Environment and Sustainable Development (UESD), Mr. Theodore Kwesi Amakye, has donated a mini-conference table and six (6) chairs to the Office of the Students Representative Council (SRC).
Mr. Amakye who is also a philanthropist made the donation to the SRC through the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Eric Nyarko-Sampson, in the presence of the; Pro. Vice Chancellor, Prof. Edward Wiafe Debrah; Dean of Students, Mrs. Daniella Sedegah and other management members.
He explained that the donation was in response to appeals by members of the student leadership, to individuals and corporate bodies to help furnish their office. He, therefore, made the donation as his 60th birthday gift to the student leadership.
Mr. Amakye added that he has no regrets about taking the bold step to go back to school ever since he stepped foot on the UESD campus and encouraged ‘mature’ persons who have plans to continue their education to do so.
The Vice-Chancellor, in turn, presented the furniture to the President of the SRC, Miss Esther Appah. He commended the philanthropist for his kind gesture and advised the student leadership to put the furniture to good use. Receiving the office furniture, the SRC President, Miss. Esther Appah expressed appreciation to Mr. Amakye for heeding the Council’s call for help. She described the donation as timely and appealed to individuals and corporate bodies to emulate Mr. Amakye’s gesture.
