Kwaku Adu (Ph.D.) obtained his Ph.D. in Global Environmental Studies at the Graduate School of Global Environmental Studies, Sophia University, Tokyo, Japan. He had his Masters degree in Global Development and Social Justice from St. John
University, New York, USA. Dr. Adu holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics from La Universidad de Oriente, Santiago de Cuba. Before his appointment at the University of Environment and Sustainable Development, he thought at the University College of Agriculture and Environmental Studies, Bunso. His research interest is in sustainability issues with particular emphasis on development, environmental policies and ethics, land and water degradation, food security, and agricultural development. His research aims at designing models that make possible both a sustainable environment and economic development from developing nations perspective premised on variables of human development, ecological and environmental economics, and climate-smart agriculture. He has developed a Multidimensional Environmental Well-Being Framework to measure multiple environmental deprivations to improve socioeconomic, well-being, and poverty analysis to achieve sustainable development. He has also developed the Environmental Generation Framework, and Agricultural and Extension Education for Sustainability approach to achieve environmental sustainability.
