Fourth Batch of SRC & JCR Executives Introduced to Management

The newly elected SRC and JCR executives of the University of Environment and Sustainable Development (UESD)have been officially introduced to management.

Miss Jennifer Teiko Larbi, a Level 300 student, is the 4th SRC President of the University. She takes over from Mr. Bernard Akowuah. The acting Dean of Students, Dr. (Mrs) Daniella Sedegah led the student leaders to the Vice-Chancellor’s office where they held a meeting along with the Registrar, Mrs Mary Abena Agyepong to provide guidance, and outline expectations for their upcoming tenure.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Eric Nyarko-Sampson congratulated them on a successful election and reminded them of the crucial role they play as representatives of the student body.  He mentioned that, as the fourth group of SRC and JCR executives in the University’s history, they have the “golden chance” to leave a lasting, positive impact on the institution. “You have the opportunity to either positively or negatively affect the university’s progress,”

The Vice-Chancellor also encouraged the executives to rise to the challenges ahead, stating that they would be judged by their legacy. Additionally, they should work closely with the Dean of Students and the Students Affairs Office. He noted that while the administration is open to discussing issues affecting all students, they must first be addressed through the Dean of Students.

Adding her voice, the Registrar, Mrs Agyepong reminded the executives of their responsibilities not just to the student body but also to the University community. The Registrar also reminded the executives of their primary purpose at the University which is their academic work and challenged them to maintain a balance between their studies and leadership roles.

The elected SRC President, Miss Teiko Larbi, who is also the second female President expressed gratitude for the opportunity to meet with the Vice-Chancellor and the Registrar. She assured them of the SRC’s commitment to student welfare and the overall betterment of UESD.

The meeting ended with well wishes for the SRC executives as they embark on their journey to serve the UESD community.
