Faculty members at the Department of Built Environment, School of Sustainable Development at the University of Environment and Sustainable Development (UESD) were among participants at the three-day Africa Real Estate Conference and Expo 2024, held from 3rd to 5th April 2024 at the UPSA Auditorium in Accra. They were; Dr. Dominic Boyetey (Acting Head of Department), Dr Adwoa Antwi and Mr. Robert Kwame Senu.
The Africa Real Estate Conference and Expo (ARCE) which is an annual event holds immense importance within the real estate sector across Africa. This year’s conference was hosted by the Ghana Real Estate Professionals Association (GREPA) under the theme “Proptech, Fintech and Sustainability: Turning Ideas into Action.
The conference attracted industry professionals, investors, developers, government officials and other stakeholders in the real estate sector across Africa and featured a variety of activities including keynote speeches, panel discussion, workshops, exhibitions and networking sessions. The event highlighted the latest trends and innovations for sustainable development in the real estate across the continent.
The faculty members participated in an exhibition exercise, which afforded them the opportunity to share information about UESD to other participants, exchange insight and forge strategic partnerships.
Dr. Boyetey talked about the University and its Programmes on offer, highlighting its mandate which is Environment and Sustainable Development in relation to the Department of Built Environment. The Head of Department, particularly mentioned Programmes run at the Department which are; BSc. Urban Planning and Development and BSc. Sustainable Construction Management and Technology.
MoU
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between UESD and the Ghana Real Estate Professionals Association (GREPA). The collaboration seeks to jointly explore areas of benefit to both institution such promoting sustainable real estate practices, education, research and enhance the academic and professional programmes for students and faculty members.
