Call for Applications

University of Environment and Sustainable Development (UESD) is partnering with University of Ghana (UG) to implement Phase 4 of the “Building a New Generation of Academics in Africa” (BANGA-Africa) Project.

BANGA Phase 4 seeks to catalyse research excellence, productivity and innovation, and intensify doctoral training at the University of Ghana. The BANGA-4 PhD awards will encourage early completion of PhD thesis research and enhance the scholarship of UG’s PhD products.

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants from UESD must:

• Must have submitted PhD application form to UG.
• Have excellent academic credentials and must demonstrate commitment to pursue an academic career.
• Be targeted for an academic/research position.

The scholarships may be used for split-site PhD programmes between UG and other partner institutions. The age limit at the time of applying for the Scholarship is forty (40) years.

MODE OF APPLICATION

Application for the grant must be endorsed by the relevant Head of Department and Dean.

Applicants should submit the following:

• A completed application form;
• Most recent CV (3 pp max);
• A certified copy of First Degree and MPhil Certificates;
• A statement of Research objectives and how the applicant intends to use the Scholarship award to enhance his/her research output;
• A maximum 3-page (PhD) research proposal clearly outlining the background, objectives, scope and methodology. A work plan and a budget must be attached on separate sheets;
• Letter of support from Head of Department or Dean.

The deadline for submission of applications is latest by close of day on 10^th May 2024.
