Anthony Amoah serves as an Associate Professor and the Ag. Dean of the School of Sustainable Development at the University of Environment and Sustainable Development (UESD). He is an Applied Development, Energy, Agriculture and Resource Economist. He holds PhD in Economics, University of East Anglia (Norwich, UK); MA Economics (Thesis Option) and BA Economics/Law, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). In addition, he holds a Certificate in Sustainable Human Development, Central European University & UNDP, Hungary.
Prof. Amoah served as the Ag. Dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and the Graduate School, and Head, Department of Economics, Central University. He taught at several universities including Central University; Methodist University Ghana (MUG); University College of Management Studies (UCOMS); University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) and the University of East Anglia (UEA, UK).
He is a member of the Royal Economic Society, UK; The European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (EAERE); International Water Resources Association (IWRA/IWA); Environment for Development (EFD); and Green Economists Institute (GEI). He served as the Council Chair for Palm University College, Accra; Board Member, El Cuto Consult, Accra; Board Member, COVID-19 Exposure and Family Impact Scales (CEFIS, Accra); Library Representative on the Faculty Board and the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST, Kumasi). As an experienced academic and researcher, he served as a reviewer and an assessor for some accredited academic institutions, international foundations and reputable academic journals.
Anthony was an EXCEED DAAD research scholar at the Technical University of Braunschweig, Germany and won several academic scholarships: GETFund Scholarship; the Turin School of Local Regulation Scholarship, Turin, Italy; 2019/2020 Best Scholarly Works, Central University and award-winning academic paper in Development Finance titled, “Free Trade exploits poor workers, Free trade helps the educated in developing countries”, University of East Anglia (UEA), UK.
He has presented several academic papers at both local and international conferences, and published extensively in several peer-reviewed academic journals such as Scopus journals.
His main research interests are in economic valuation of energy, water, and other natural resources. His hobbies are playing football and tennis.
