The University of Environment and Sustainable Development has formally admitted its pioneer students as Junior Members of the University, Instantu Pupilllari. This was at a ceremony held at the forecourt of the Multipurpose building of the University attended by the Council Chair, Prof. J. N. Ayertey, the Vice-Chancellor, Teaching and non Teaching staff of the University as well as parents and guardians of the Students. The Matriculants, made up of 46 males and 27 females were admitted into the School of Sustainable Development, SSD and the School of Natural and Environmental Sciences, SNES.
The Programmes they will be pursuing include, B.Sc Sustainable Development, B.Sc. Energy Sustainability, B.Sc. Biological and Mathematical Sciences, B. Sc Chemistry and Mathematical Sciences. and B.Sc Public Health and Environment The Matriculation Oath was administered by the Registrar of the University, Mrs.Mary Abena Agyepong. The Students swore the Matriculation Oath, pledging among other things to conform to the Statutes, Rules and regulations of the University. In addition to the Matriculation Oath, the Freshers were also made to recite the Honour Code and the Core values of the University which has the abbreviation HOPE(Honesty, Opportunity, Perseverance and Enterprising) which are exclusive to the University. In an address, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Eric Nyarko- Sampson urged the pioneer students to explore all opportunities that will be provided them while on campus to enhance their academic growth. They should also abide by the rules and regulations of the University bearing in mind that there are sanctions that go with unruly behaviour.
The seventy three Matriculants each signed the Matriculation Register and the Honour Code.
