Management of the University of Environment and Sustainable Development (UESD) led by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Eric Nyarko-Sampson hosted the Director of the Nkabom MasterCard McGill Collaborative, Pierre Brunache Jr., to the University’s Council Chamber. The visit which was a pre-engagement meeting with key officers, served as preparation for the upcoming official meeting of the collaborative’s five partner institutions under the Nkabom MasterCard McGill including UESD.
Mr. Brunache, who also serves as Director of the Secretariat for the Nutrition and Sustainable Agri-food Collaborative at McGill University, highlighted his enrolment by UESD Vice-Chancellor Prof. Eric Nyarko-Sampson from Washington D.C. before relocating to Montreal. At McGill, he leads a team of ten and works closely with various departments, including Dobson, Engineering, and Policy, many of which have shown keen interest in supporting the collaborative.
Mr. Brunache highlighted his commitment to youth empowerment and agri-food systems. He further expressed plans to connect UESD with new funding opportunities from the MasterCard Foundation and African Development Bank, and announced the launch of a dedicated project website to showcase partner efforts globally.

Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Nyarko-Sampson expressed appreciation for his contributions and reaffirming UESD’s readiness to launch the collaborative. He outlined the University’s strengths in agro-waste processing, aquaculture technology, and community outreach, including training programs for farmers and a unique student community immersion initiative.














Present at the meeting included the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Edward Wiafe Debrah; Registrar Mrs. Mary Abena Agyapong, Ag. Dean of SNES Dr. Francis Shine Ggbedemah and other members on the UESD project. With strong institutional support and a shared commitment to innovation and sustainability, UESD is set to play a pivotal role in advancing the objectives of the Nkabom MasterCard McGill Collaborative.
