UESD Ladies Club Ushers in New Leadership

The Ladies Club of the University of Environment and Sustainable Development (UESD) has marked the beginning of a new leadership era with the induction of its newly elected executives at a handing-over ceremony held at the Auditorium, Multipurpose Building.

The newly elected leadership is headed by Ms. Philomina Ekpeh, an Assistant Registrar at the Academic Affairs Office, with Ms. Belinda M. Dhagba, a Senior Administrative Assistant, serving as Secretary. They succeed Ms. Alberta Ablomati’s administration, which served the club for two years.

During the brief ceremony, the eight-member executive team took the oath of office, pledging to lead with dedication, integrity, and a commitment to the club’s mission. The oath was administered by the Registrar, Mrs. Mary Abena Agyepong.

In her acceptance speech, the newly elected President, Ms. Ekpeh, expressed her gratitude and commitment to leading the club forward. She emphasised the importance of unity, empowerment, and personal growth, stating that the club belongs to all its members and serves as a space where women are uplifted, inspired, and supported. She encouraged members to reflect on their individual purpose and contributions to the club’s success, reaffirming that their collective efforts can make a meaningful impact.

Registrar, Mrs. Agyepong commended the outgoing executives for their dedication and impactful initiatives, such as the breast cancer awareness campaign and donations. She urged members to actively support the new leadership, seek mentorship, and participate in club activities to further its mission.

The other mem newly elected executives include Ms. Alimatu-Saadia Zakaria, Assistant Registrar; Ms. Esther Mensah, Chief Administrative Assistant, serving as Assistant Secretary; Miss Micheala Okae, a Senior Administrative Assistant, taking up the role of Treasurer; Ms. Vivian Yayra Mensah, Principal Administrative Assistant, as Chief Organizer; Dr. Rahmat Q. Duker, representing UTAG; Ms. Joyce Adjekum, representing GAUA; Miss Efua Bessima. Sam, representing SSA; Miss Esther Sakoe, representing TEWU; and Miss Abigail O. Owusu, student representative.

The outgoing executives officially handed over their responsibilities to the new team and were honoured with certificates of appreciation for their dedication and contributions to the club’s progress.

The ceremony marked a significant milestone for the UESD Ladies Club, reinforcing its mission to empower and support women within the University community.
