The University of Environment and Sustainable Development (UESD) has received accreditation from the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) to offer postgraduate programmes. The newly accredited programmes include M.Phil. Sustainable Aquaculture and Biotechnology, M.Phil. Environmental Restoration Studies, and M.Sc. Environmental Restoration Studies. The announcement was made by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Eric Nyarko-Sampson, during the university’s 5th Commencement Lecture on Saturday, February 1, 2025.
In addition, three undergraduate programmes have also been accredited. These are: B.Sc. Economics, B.Sc. Statistics, and B.Sc. Fisheries Economics and Management.
The Guest Speaker, Dr. Seth Appiah-Kubi, National Director of A Rocha Ghana, delivered a lecture on the theme: “Forests for the Future: Strategies for Addressing Climate Change, Biodiversity Loss, and Sustainable Development in Ghana.”
The Special Guest, Mrs. Rita Adjei Awatey, the newly sworn-in Eastern Regional Minister, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to completing stalled projects at the University.
