Members of the University of the Environment and Sustainable Development (UESD) Ladies Club have donated medical supplies, toiletries, and plastic containers to the University’s sickbay as part of activities marking the club’s first anniversary. The Club which has Vice-Chancellor Prof. Eric Nyarko-Sampson as patron, includes members from four labour unions: UTAG, GAUA, SSA-UoG, and TEWU-gh.
The Chairperson of the donation committee, Ms. Araba Mbrowa Korsah said, giving back to the University is important to the club because of the benefits members have received from the facility. She thanked members for their generous contributions, particularly the external donors, and expressed optimism that the items would support swift healthcare delivery to the university community. She urged members to continue supporting the University in any way they can.
The Club President, Mrs. Alberta Kwarteng, an Assistant Registrar, presented the items to the Registrar and Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Edward Wiafe Debrah. Both took turns commending the members’ efforts and encouraged them to maintain the spirit with which the club was founded. They noted that the programmes organised by the club are extremely beneficial to the University community.
The items were later handed over to the Head of the Services Division, who then transferred them to the nursing officer on duty
