Students of the University of Environment and Sustainable Development (UESD), have been commended for their level of decency, attributed tothe degree of discipline the university instills in them.
The team leader of Prudential Life Insurance Ghana, Mr. Alexander Ogyam Akotia, gave the commendation when he led a team from his organization to donate a pack of course books to the University. The books which are mainly courses in environmental sustainability, and sustainable development is worth one thousand dollars ($1,000).
Mr. Akotia said, the donation is part of the organization’s social responsibility and commitment to the support of quality tertiary education. It is also a way of establishing a working relationship with the UESD. He expressed the hope that, the books will have a positive impact on the students’ studies. He urged Management to keep up the good work in the training of the students.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Eric Nyarko-Sampson, thanked the Insurance Company for the books. He expressed confidence that it will go a long way to improve students’ research. He called on other corporate institutions to emulate their gesture. Present were the Registrar of UESD, Mrs. Mary Abena Agyepong, and the Director of Internal Audit, Dr. Emmanuel Opoku-Ware.
