To deliver seamless support by making UESD the preferred partner for innovative research.

Mission

To provide support to researchers and safeguard the conduct of research and other sponsored activities for the University of Environment and Sustainable Development (UESD). The Unit will apply approved regulatory and statutory frameworks, as well as organizational knowledge in a timely and professional manner in order to balance the university’s mission, the Funders objectives, and the investigator’s intellectual pursuits.

Mandate

The mandate of the Research, Innovation and Consultancy Unit (RICU) is to oversee and support the conduct of research and Consultancy Services engaged in by employees of the University and create a conducive environment to nurture creativity and innovation in the University. Our mandates includes developing and implementing the University’s research and consultancy policies, fund raising for research, ensuring the effective distribution and efficient use of research funds, setting standards and ensuring effective dissemination of high-quality research output; representing the university in contractual relationships, grants application and administering contract research; establishing systems for ethical clearance; and registration, patenting and commercialisation of intellectual property.
